future tunnel continues

This underground tunnel takes you from Huangpu 黄浦 to Pudong 浦东 with insane sound effects, beams and lights. It’s definitely one of the trippiest ride I’ve ever been on.

M50

M50 is one of the most well-known and dense creative zones in Shanghai. It’s located at 50 Moganshan Lu, thus it gets its name M50. There are numerous studios and galleries mixed and hidden in the labyrinth with only one point of entry. Many up and coming artists and established names operate out of here.

Studio Dumbar (Shanghai)

Thanks to Martin Venezky, I was able to pay visit at Studio Dumbar in Shanghai. Studio Dumbar is a graphic design studio based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. They opened up their second studio in Shanghai in 2005.

I’ve always been a big fan of their work, it’s such a treat to go behind the scene and meet with the team who did the inspiring and extraordinary work.

Joost Roozekrans, the creative director, filled me in on the insights of a designer life in Shanghai.
