We stumbled upon this gallery in our neighborhood. They were having a shoes painting contest in an alley. The vibe was pretty funny overall.

One of the best Beijing restaurants in Hong Kong. It’s been opened for over 40 years serving excellent Beijing style cuisine. I’ve been going there with my grandpa and grandma since I was a baby boy. Highly recommend the honey-glazed Peking duck!

shek O
After 8.5 km and 2 hours of hiking we landed ourselves in a sweet beach town called Shek O for a hot bowl of wonton noodle soup. Sleepy seaside villages like this are found all over the area and outlying Islands, you can always find smiles, good food and the usual smell of incense flowing from a temple.
The day finished by way of the always thrilling double-decker speed bus zooming along winding mountain roads to the city. From calm natural wanderings to white knuckle transport, this place has yet to disappoint in the extremes of life. A great day indeed.
Dragon’s Back
Nothing soothes the soul more than a day with nature. The weather this day was not optimal with strong winds at the peak and misty clouds between you and scenic views but we soon found ourselves right at home with the ease of clean air and quiet. Thick clouds added to the majestic nature of this Island called Hong Kong, winds cleansing the mind and bones of city stresses. In an out of deep jungle thickets to mountain ridges, the trail called ‘Dragon’s Back’ was quite the treat.

利是 (Lei See)
I love everything about Chinese New Year, aside from all the colorful decorations, good food and good times with friends and family, it’s 利是-Red Envelope. 利是is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions. These red envelopes are typically given by the married to the unmarried. The money was called 壓歲錢 (yāsuì qián), meaning “money warding off evil spirits”, and was believed to protect the elderly from sickness and death.
Let’s keep the 利是 coming!
